Nakie31 January 4, 2018 January 4, 2018 Hello can someone please identify this algae on the rock in this pic and if so how can I get rid of it. It looks red in the pic under blue rocks, but it is actually brown .
Origami January 4, 2018 January 4, 2018 Are you sure it's an algae? It could be cyanobacteria. Can you blow it off with a turkey baster?
Ricko4 January 5, 2018 January 5, 2018 Not to cut in, but I have cyanobacteria, I think , can blow it off with a turkey baster,. . Any ideas of how to get rid off it, ,bought a few hermit crabs and snails
gmerek2 January 5, 2018 January 5, 2018 My astreas can *sometimes* eat it but it’s not very effective at all. In my tank it was just a new tank syndrome. It never came back. But sometimes it’s a nutrient issue. My old tank i would have it for two months then it would go away for two months. The cycle repeated itself several times only thing I could think of is it ate what it could then starved out until more nutrient built up
