Are you referring to whatever is coming out its mouth? Hard to tell from picture, but was it redish brown? If so, then likely zooxanthellae being expelled as it acclimates to higher intensity lighting.

No this looks like a feather it is actually on the top of the coral and was waving down towards the corals mouth.

Is the "feather" coming from what looks like a small bare spot, otherwise surrounded by tissue?  It's probably a barnacle or similar filter feeder.  Not a problem.

Hard to say from the photo.  The first three candidates in my mind are ctenophores, vermetid mucus, or Bryopsis.

 

Edit: or zooxanthellae, as Wheresthereef said.
