Tom202 September 25, 2017 September 25, 2017 Anybody know what can cause this I run radions and my hammer is in a very low.light corner...tank parameters are good.everything else.is thriving Pic Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
Jon Lazar September 25, 2017 September 25, 2017 IME bleaching is usually caused by too much light. Especially in tanks lit by LEDs, because they put out a lot of light but don't appear that bright. A spike in water temps can also cause bleaching. Move your coral into a partially shady spot, and consider turning down your light intensity.
paul b September 25, 2017 September 25, 2017 (edited) I have "Craftsman" Hammer with a similar problem. But instead of bleaching, it is rusting. Edited September 25, 2017 by paul b
sen5241b September 26, 2017 September 26, 2017 WHAT CHANGED BEFORE BLEACHING? When I see corals in trouble and assuming there were no obvious changes, I just go ahead and do a 40-45% water change? Half the time this solves problem.

Half the time this solves problem. What happens the other 55 or 60% of the time? Do the corals turn into wood?

madweazl September 29, 2017 September 29, 2017 When heads retract like that, it can be an indication of too much light. Water parameters are where they should be?
