gmerek2 November 17, 2015 November 17, 2015 (edited) I keep seeing ATI fixtures for sale with "new fans" or "needs new fans" how long are the fans suppose to last? How long are they actually lasting? Are they difficult to replace? Edited November 17, 2015 by gmerek2
epleeds November 17, 2015 November 17, 2015 (edited) Easy to replace. They are cheap fans and last a year or two. They can get louder over time. Edited November 17, 2015 by epleeds
pizzaguy November 17, 2015 November 17, 2015 Dido what Eric said. Very simple to replace but keep in mind they do a lot of work and keep the lights relatively cool compar d to a lot of t5 fixtures. And there dirt cheap to replace
Reefer_Madness November 18, 2015 November 18, 2015 Are they supposed to be on? I just thought they were for looks.
YHSublime November 18, 2015 November 18, 2015 The fans are like the little computer fans, and usually pull OT in keeping your fixture cool. It's a point of sale to say the fans have recently been replaced. They are cheap to replace, and easy to DIY, similar to most parts on an ATI fixture. Also, as mentioned, they can sometomes get loud, and in my experience, the rubber grommits that help keep them in place are cranky.
