Thanks.  As suspected, phosphate is leaching out at 0.27 from Pukani.  I just added some GFO and some Dr. Tim's.  Now I sit and wait.  Back to the 180G  !

Sweet, looks like there are some nice nooks on that rock for choice coral. Have you considered a black cord cover or zip ties to clean up the running cords off the light? With brs doses and the MP10, are you gearing to attempt SPS in a pico?! Do you think the dosers are overkill on a tank that size?

Yeah, I'm working on the black cords.  The funny thing about the light fixture is that it's only got two mounting screws right in the middle so it's really hard to balance with the wire hanging setup I DIY'ed.  So actually the two black cords keep the fixture from torque-ing to one side.  Any suggestions?

Not sure I'm really gonna use the BRS pumps yet but I got them either for SPS-ing the PicO Nano or vodka-ing the 180.  Overkill?  Yeah, probably, lol.

That's really cool!  I wanted to get a PicO tank.  I've heard they are really nice.  Hand built.

I had a really nice 5 gallon eco pico with some sps/lps/zoas a while back with a yellow clown goby.  I recommend one in a tank that size.

Ed looks good!

One option would be to run a grey electrical conduit up the back wall (mount to the wall below the top of the desk- high and low) and use one of the sweep 90 elbows attached the top of the pipe. That is if the lines will both fit in the pipe. It would hide the wires and maybe make it look like the light was hanging more from the pipe. It would be DIY and you could paint it if you wanted. Just a thought.

That would be really cool/industrial looking.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend Picoaquariums. His build quality is a step above the IM and JBJ products I've had before.

Hmm. One of the cords has the ferrite bead thingy. But you are giving me ideas!

That is what I meant by if it would fit.

They make 1" and I think 1.5" pipe.

So you waste 0 time, huh? Looks class. I've got a really easy bonsai acro I'd love to give you a piece of to see how it fares once you get a cycle out of the way. I think this tank will be a nice way to satisfy those "challenges" you might be looking for, without having to break the bank. Meanwhile, keep loading up that 180 with LPS!

Ill start the slow clap..... absolutly beautiful setup.  I look forward to seeing it fill out.

Thanks!  Slow clap for slow build, lol.

I would like to add that the Enterprise NCC-1701 is an awesome addition to the shelf.

Haha, my son gave it to me since he got two of them (by mistake) for Christmas.  He said it was attacking the Borg Nano-Cube.

It's day 11 after adding Dr. Tim's ammonia to level of 3.  Used dry rock but live sand from my other tank.  A couple of days ago I started to get diatoms already.  Today, my ammonia read 0, nitrites 0, nitrate 5.  I added more ammonia to 2 to see if the tank can process.

I've never had a tank cycle this fast.  I'm pretty used to several weeks.  Does this seem a little weird?

I've heard dr tims does just that. Stock slow and throw a test piece in.

You really don't mess around at all. Everything is top notch (I love seeing vortech's on tank's that size, if only because I'm envious), and that rock is amazing. Any ideas what you'll be putting in there?

Thanks. I'm thinking of taking on the challenge of SPS in a nano. I have a feeling this is going to be tough but I like a good fight - especially one this small.

Anyone around Columbia have some easy colorful SPS for me to start out with?
