DC Pumps (Jebao, RO, RLSS) Are they Reliable?

Ok, bottom line is I need a new return pump to replace an old Quiet One 3000 on my 55. I am currently running my backup Mag 7. I was originally looking at purchasing either a Laguna Maxflo, Eheim, or Water Blaster but I have a few people suggesting I look into the Jebao line of DC Pumps. That said . . .

I have been doing a lot of reading and research and find articles on controllers going bad, motor blocks failing on older Wavelines (that Origami did a nice write up about) and a few other random issues here and there.

My question is, are all the bugs worked out on these pumps yet?? Anyone been running one for over a year with no issues? If so, please post up which manufacturer and model pump you have, how long you have had it, whether it is ran in sump or external and any issues you've had if any . . . Thanks in advance for any input (or you can tell me just to buy a laguna, eheim or water blaster instead )

I have been running my RLSS DC12000 with no issues for about 1yr 8mo. It is the Gen2 version. That being said myself and another WAMAS'er both got our pumps at the exact same time (early release shipment) and her controller broke, but a replacement one was sent. So its hit or miss like anything in this hobby.

I have the rlls dc 6000. Running a year plus. I had problems with the controller out of the box, Quantum took care of that for me. The pump stopped working when I moved and cleaned it, but a member gave me an instructional sequence that ended up working great. Something like unplug, hold down + - at the same time and spin around three times. I like the soft start, wish I went a little larger in size.

Sounds like RLSS caught and fixed their issues. Anyone out there have any "long term" info on the Jebao DC pumps?

I have been running mine since last Christmas with no issues. (Jebao pump)

I just purchased the newest version of the Jebao. We'll see how it holds up. It will be the return for my 55 and will feed a manifold for my fuge and media reactor. The new pumps look like they got a little redesignand a new 10 speed controller. I ordered the DCT4000.

Running the Jebao DC3000 for 11 months now, no problems so far.

Edit:  I also only run the pump at 19V off of an old laptop power supply.  Not sure if that will affect the longevity of the pump.

I have had a Jebao DC12000 running as a return pump on my tank since Oct of 2014.  The AC transformer died this last Christmas for an unexplained reason.  Other than that no issues.
