  1. I just purchased the newest version of the Jebao. We'll see how it holds up. It will be the return for my 55 and will feed a manifold for my fuge and media reactor. The new pumps look like they got a little redesignand a new 10 speed controller. I ordered the DCT4000.
  2. Sounds like RLSS caught and fixed their issues. Anyone out there have any "long term" info on the Jebao DC pumps?
  3. Ok, bottom line is I need a new return pump to replace an old Quiet One 3000 on my 55. I am currently running my backup Mag 7. I was originally looking at purchasing either a Laguna Maxflo, Eheim, or Water Blaster but I have a few people suggesting I look into the Jebao line of DC Pumps. That said . . . I have been doing a lot of reading and research and find articles on controllers going bad, motor blocks failing on older Wavelines (that Origami did a nice write up about) and a few other random issues here and there. My question is, are all the bugs worked out on these pumps yet?? Anyone been running one for over a year with no issues? If so, please post up which manufacturer and model pump you have, how long you have had it, whether it is ran in sump or external and any issues you've had if any . . . Thanks in advance for any input (or you can tell me just to buy a laguna, eheim or water blaster instead )
  4. I don't mean to revive an old post but . . . here it goes anyway ;-) Tom, did you end up sticking with the DC pumps? How are they running? I have been recently considering a DC return pump for my tank but have come across this and similar stories of failed blocks and failed controllers. Just curious to If you had any "long term" info on them. THANKS!!

    55 Gallon Mixed Reef

55gal Corner Overflow, 15gal Refugium, 15gal Sump, Reef Octopus NWB150 Skimmer, 2 Vortech MP10, 6 bulb T5HO, Turbo Twist UV, and Media Reactor
  7. all depends on what fits best in your stand
  8. +1 on the overflow on one side and lock line the other . . . as for the sump . . . I always use aquariums and add my own acrylic baffles. I have a 20gal long under a 33 gal tank and I have 2 - 15gals (kinda stacked) under my 55gal. The 20gal sump is broken up into 3 parts - drain area, refugium, and return The 15gals under my 55 made plumbing more complicated but one used as the refugium and the other is half drain area with skimmer and half return
