pizzaguy September 23, 2014 September 23, 2014 Short of it. Nitrate reactor. External mj1200 in pic. Pouring water out the bottom as you can see in pic. Went to petco bought a new mj1200 and still leaks with new o ring. Obviously the end is glued to the reactor so I gotta figure something out as I'm not rebuilding another reactor. Ideas any help would be appreciated
zygote2k September 23, 2014 September 23, 2014 It's a submersible pump and designed to leak under water. It's out of the water and working as it should. Get a Mag 2 instead. They're made for internal or external and don't leak.

Origami September 23, 2014 September 23, 2014 Supposedly, the newer Marineland Maxijet Pro's can be used externally. This is what the manufacturer writes, at least. Take it with a grain of salt. However, my experience is similar to Rob's: Maxijets in external applications is hit or miss - most of the time, they leak where the volute meets the motor block. Can you run your reactor in a sump so leaking is no longer a concern?
