londonloco September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I bought rock from KP Aquatics for my 16gIM: http://sealifeinc.net/catalog/index.php I love this rock. I got the uncured rock, Philip told me he dove on Sunday for the rock, mailed it Monday, and it was in my tank on Tuesday, 48 hours from ocean floor to my tank. It had a curly cue anemone, FOUR pencil urchins, many types of macro algae, several unknown soft corals, spaghetti worms, it is so much fun watching the tank daily to see what crawls out of the rock. Six months later, I'm still seeing "new life" on it. If I ever redo my 60g, or set up another tank, I'll def use this rock.

I really like them, though I have only ordered critters and macroalgae there. Tampa Bay Saltwater is on my wishlist too. That being said, I got my fiji/pukani at Marine Scene ndit is really great. I also have some of the manmade purple and don't care for it. It isn't porous and the purple is missing/faded from the areas my urchin grazed. jacobB89 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I got 200lbs from Marco rock not live but very nice and no problems with phosphates. As for live I hear a lot of great things about live rock and reef.
MrSexyShrimp September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I got a nano package of dry rock from ReefCleaners.org. It's rather dense, not as pretty as BRS pukani, but this is what sold me: It has been professionally cleaned and dried after a long soak in a deep water well to prevent leaching of phosphates. This rock is free of organics except the dust that may settle on it during transport. http://www.reefcleaners.org/aquarium-store/florida-reef-rock-30lbs-free-shipping

I used reefcleaners dry rock for my 60g, great rock, great shapes. But, as stated above, if I had a do-over, I'd def go with KP uncured.

treesprite September 20, 2014 Share September 20, 2014 (edited) Buy dry rock and just seed it with a couple little pieces borrowed from someone else's tank. I like Pukani for building structures and Tonga for accents. I don't know what all the rock is that is in my tank, because it wasn't all purchased at one time. Pukani gives you more for your money in terms of how much space it fills. It has lots of natural places to stick frag plugs if you want to leave the corals on them. It's really nice for creating very open structure with lots of archways that have unique shapes. Edited September 20, 2014 by treesprite
