pizzaguy June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 My nem split a few days ago. I have a rainbow bubble tip and the one that split is some type of long tentacle red one. Don't know the exact type. The question is this. Can the 2 touch each other being that there different. The one that split is right on target to collide with my rainbow. smallreef June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 Most anemones don't hurt one another...just keep an eye out, one of them will likely move...
Origami June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 Anemones can and will sting each other. This won't happen with the two that have the same origin, but a problem may be seen between the two different species. When one gets close to the other, you may notice the wandering one will stop or change direction. They can also engage in chemical warfare with one another. Here's something that might prove illuminating. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/anemcompfaqs.htm
