Possibly the easiest DIY skimmer air intake silencer ever

I looked at a few threads and it seemed like the way to do it was to isolate the final intake step in a small container. So I searched everywhere and couldn't find any containers... Until this brilliant idea hit me!

 

And voila!:

Adjust air regulator to make sure I don't overflow the skimmer

Put air intake into top of container...

Tada!

I could be wrong, but I don't think skimmate lattes are likely to catch on.

I used to save the air intake of a small skimmer that I one had thru a hole that I had in the collection cup lid to muffle the sound. Same principle.

Ive a very clever mirror I can see if I look at the right angle to make sure it works. And perhaps I'll patent this design. At least this one won't be stuck on a slow boat from china after you've paid for it

I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I'm sleep deprived when I'm reading this. So you're actually suggesting that I should keep this loud air whistling noise throughout my house?
