Piper January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 (edited) My purchases here have been GREAT by the way. Frags, equipment, etc. Buyers should be very grateful for the bargains here. I am going to re-up for that reason. Plenty of good here. I'll need to visit the for sale section eventually. Just prefer not to see the drama that arises often it seems. smallreef January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 (edited) I think the biggest issue is transparency... If you choose to sell, which is one reason I don't sell corals, people want to know pertanaint information and you as a seller should be able to easily provide it. As for buyers, they too need to abide by agreements, and if they have questions regarding products ask... It behooves everyone to be as honest as they can, if they don't now something it's easy to just say I don't know... I love the deals wamas members give other members on stuff! I always look here first.... Edited January 4, 2014 by smallreef
lutz123 January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 I think anyone is within their rights to raise a price if they change their mind. I didn't add that I think it would be in terrible taste to raise the price. I have a short list of folks that I wouldn't buy from, but overall it's been great, and I love meeting people. I have definitely learned to ask better questions when buying. So is there a guideline on what needs to be asked via pm vs. in the thread?
Origami January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 So is there a guideline on what needs to be asked via pm vs. in the thread? a) In an auction thread, ask your questions via PM. If the seller wants to post the answer to the auction thread so everyone can see it, they can. b) In a for sale thread, I (personally) think it's fair to ask whatever it is that needs to be asked about the product, pedigree, the tank it came from, etc. Of course, the discourse should remain civil, on topic and informative. The seller can choose to answer or not.
davelin315 January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 Again, questions that add to the thread and that help to clarify terms or item details are welcome. Even some limited questioning of the reputation could feasibly be tolerated if it doesn't amount to personal attacks, but piling on we try to avoid. For instance, a question like "will you be there when I pick up unlike the first 3 times you said you would be?" could be legit, but not if 8 more people chime in... Point has already been made. The buyer always has the right to ask questions, but a lot of the time on here people try and be overprotective of others and derail sales they think should not happen. When it amounts to no longer helping ensure full disclosure, then it has crossed the line. Certainly if someone refuses to answer a question, then that speaks volumes.
Piper January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 I think I may have upset Mr703 mentioning him earlier or making assumptions about his setup. Public apology if so. Only meant to help. Sorry if off base.
pizzaguy January 4, 2014 January 4, 2014 Steve, I believe this was a very good thread to start. Hopefully it will relieve some of the tension that has apparently been brewing in the background. Piper, I just realized where my purple scrolling cap frag came from a long time ago. And 2 of my digitata. All of which are colonies now. Thank you.

Sharkey18 January 5, 2014 January 5, 2014 Thanks to the mods for the great job they do and to Steve for asking for clarification on an important subject without making it personal to anyone.
