steveoutlaw December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 My hippo tang apparently thought she had eaten too much this Christmas and wanted to work some of it off. This cracked me up:

AlanM December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 Too funny. Quick questions, though. How long is your tank and what are you running those Tunze's on to make the water surface wave like that? I was trying to get a wave and can't.
steveoutlaw December 29, 2013 Author Share December 29, 2013 Alan - My tank is 60x30x27 and that is a single WP25 making the wave. I have a second WP25 in the tank on random flow. The WP40 in the back is disconnected.
AlanM December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 Wow, that thing is impressive. Maybe I need some kind of Apex/Tunze whisperer to take a look at mine.
sen5241b December 30, 2013 Share December 30, 2013 (edited) Had a blue reef chromis that did that and then he died. (see vid) Hopefully your fish is just nuts and he will be fine. The thoery was that the fish was trying to increase metabolism to expel a parasite although I was never able to confirm that. Sharkey18 January 1, 2014 Share January 1, 2014 More likely a stereotypic response and an indicator of stress. Similar to a lion pacing or an elephant rocking. Is that a new fish? Did something change in the tank? If she stops doing it, it's not an issue. If she doesn't, there could be a problem with tank mates….
