astroboy October 9, 2013 October 9, 2013 I need a submerisible pump for water changes, to move water from from my basement mixing tank to the first floor. I've been using an Eheim 1260 but I need to use that pump as a return pump on my new tank. Does anyone have any recommendations for pump with a 12 foot+ head? Since I won't be using it often I'm looking more for low price rather and quiet & reliable. Thanks!
howaboutme October 9, 2013 October 9, 2013 I am planning on using a Mag12 to do the same. Here is my thread talking about it: http://wamas.org/forums/topic/58398-rodisaltwater-mixing-station-advice/ I hope to complete this project soon. I've researched (looking at the output curve) and talked to a few people that say a Mag12 would work. I think I got it used from another member here for cheap.

Anyway, i can recommend the triton-5 which is what I'm using to push water up from my basement. It has 15 feet of head and is actually pretty quiet when submerged. I'm using it inline and it can be noisy bit it could also be my plumbing at fault. But cheap it is (paid $75) and I have a triton-3 on my DT with no issues.

AlanM October 9, 2013 October 9, 2013 Does it have to be internal? I can see how that would be more convenient, but I recall seeing a few here like a blue line Monkiboy had that would do the job at 16 feet of head.
