Huly August 14, 2013 August 14, 2013 What brands are easy to use and reliable. Was looking on Amazon and most seem to be TDS/PH meters etc
trockafella August 14, 2013 August 14, 2013 Why not just invest in controller.? The Apex jr is priced well and can handle all of that. Or you can probably find an AC3 or ACjr for really cheap. Fwiw I use a pinpoint salinity monitor and I have been very happy with it (I know its not a PH tool, but referring more to the company).

We eventually want to go that way when start building the new system but honestly the RSM is a royal pain to add anything to it. http://www.marinedepot.com/Hanna_Instruments_Waterproof_pH_Tester_with_Replaceable_Electrode_Single_Item_Monitors_Controllers_for_Saltwater_Aquariums-Hanna_Instruments-HN1131-FITEMOID-vi.html I have used this one forever and always loved it Awesome we like their Alk tester
Djplus1 August 15, 2013 August 15, 2013 The Red Sea will not prevent you from "adding" on a controller anymore than your legs prevent you from adding pants. It's a powerstrip. It controls your heater, fans, powerheads, pumps, etc, by plugging in. It can be used on any tank you switch over to. Just plug it into the wall. Unplug what you want from the Red Sea strip and plug into the controller. Problem solved.

Djplus1 August 15, 2013 August 15, 2013 I thought you had something into the tank for it to work. Thanks! I posted in the things I didn't waste money on and listed two things. Avast ATO and apex controllers. I have one of each on all three of my tanks (including MY Red Sea Max). The controller literally changes your life, as far as fish keeping goes, at least;-)
AlanM August 15, 2013 August 15, 2013 Just think, you can check your pH and temp from a tailgate party with your phone. 8)

Huly August 15, 2013 Author August 15, 2013 LOL Thanks guys! I will look into that. I just always assume as everything we have looked at is a no go on a RSM LOL
