Screen lid

Where can i get a screen lid for my 10 gal nano? Ive list my fish due to carpet surfing after changing to a eggcrate lid...can i use a reptile lid as long as not metallic screening? Also how much will thus impact my lights?? 2 par 38 bulbs (10000/12watt &12000/27 watts)....?

make one..HD or lowes sells the frame, spline, spline tool and corners

you can get clear netting from brs or QR usually has some in stock or buy at lowes or HD if you dont care if its clear. Just make sure its 1/4" not 1/2". 

will take just a few minutes to make and will save you tons in livestock

+1 by far the easiest way to go. I have a piece of clear 1/4 screen you can have and you can borrow the spline tool.

I may do that..trying to decide if i want fish right now...may just do inverts in the 10..that would be different...if i change mind can always order from brs for kit..less of a footprint for inverts too i imagine..

much cheaper to buy all pieces at hd or lowes....extremely inexpensive project....

Very easy to do on your own.  Takes about 30 minutes to complete

i have all the stuff you need including frame, corner pieces, lot so of clear screen, spline tool, etc you can have for free. if it'll help you out and possibly save a fish i think it's a pretty solid investment on my part shoot me a PM if that's the way you go and you're interested.

I just found my first carpet surfer this morning too =(

Going to head to home depot this week to start picking stuff up.

If you go out to the garden/pond area, you can ask them for "bird netting" which is wider spacing than door screening.  It is what I am using to make my covers, I saw it when I was at Gadget's house and it works well, no real light blockage.

Yes but for small fish that 1/2" netting isn't any better than the eggcrate that already failed her...she will need 1/4"

Just double it over and make sure the squares over lap. No reason to buy 1/4" from brs for 10x the cost.

I have found that instead of using eggcrate, I now  use real eggs.  But they have a habit of falling in the tank.
