Three days ago my RBTA, which I've had for about a year and a half and has been through H-E-double hocky sticks and back, split... now I have 2.

That's not cloning, its reproduction.

JimCroce-

Let me know if you are looking to get rid of one. I've been looking for one for a while and would be happy to buy or trade for it. :D

Steve

Steve, let me give them a few weeks to heal. I think my maroon is confused. Two is one too many options.

Cloning is not morally wrong. It happens in nature in a number of species, so it is simply one of a number of means of reproduction. The actual question should be:

"Is it morally wrong to implement a method of reproduction with a species that does not naturally use that method?"

While it doesn't fit on a bumper sticker, it's the accurate way to phrase the broader question.

All I can say is that for an anemone it is "biologically correct" :D As for morally wrong or not, well it depends on the anemone's education and religious beliefs :P

if it were a cell it would be called mitosis, which is what all our cells in our bodies go through for us to get bigger.

Not to mention meiosis, which "clones" the cells we grow from.

meiosis is were you end up with 4 haploid cells, each having half of the chromosomes as the parent, only used for reproduction. so if the diploid number of the cell is 46 (human) the haploid number would be 23 (sperm and ovum or egg) sorry ofr the info dump. just learned this in bio 101. still not sure on cellular respiration....made a c on that test and still bitter <_<

Absolutely! I got an A in BIO 101 and I still had to look up meiosis before making my post!!!

Why?  Just be happy it split.

Happy??? The poor thing was torn in half. How perturbing. Nature can be so cruel.

Be that as it may, I thought perhaps a blender could make me a few more "frags". What do you think?

We used to take sponges and hit in the blender.

We would turn off skimmers, powerheads and pumps and allow it to settle.

We did this for obvious reasons but also to help bind our rocks together and prevent rockslides.

Slick huh?
