jimlin June 2, 2013 June 2, 2013 anyone have any experience with them and have used them as a filter in your sump? they are everywhere here and i was just thinking i could use them in my tank somehow.
Matt LeBaron June 3, 2013 June 3, 2013 I have kept a couple in my sump or frag tank for a couple years now. They're neat but in my experience grow WAY to slowly to be any kind of significant nutrient export. If you like the look of them go for it, they're relatively easy to keep and are neat but otherwise you're better off looking else where for nutrient export. My 2 cents...

monkiboy June 3, 2013 June 3, 2013 yeah definitely more of an aesthetic touch. i can quantify or describe how much it helped but they grew well for me. just spritz them everyday with freshwater from a spray bottle and a 3500k or fuge lamp (660nm) will grow them lovely.
Origami June 3, 2013 June 3, 2013 I've seen them at BRK and I think that flowerseller (Chip) may have used them also at one time. Might try PM'ing Chip to confirm.
zygote2k June 4, 2013 June 4, 2013 get a hundred of them and put them somewhere they will be able to grow above water surface. they'll need to be propped up to grow upwards and will need fresh water sprayed on their leaves periodically. easy.
