And skimmer pump came in mail today. I agree, it was already weak, and thrown in an unstable system, can't argue that. Still have a hard time with that 0. Will get closer to an answer tonight.

As mentioned before. SPS dont have long sweepers like LPS. So unless your Pocci unglued itself, wondered over to the acro, rolled around on it all night, it wasnt the Pocci. Not to mention the pocci shows no damage either. Honestly I dont think you will find an answer, the acro shows obvious signs of previously dead areas coupled with your tanks chemistry, save yourself the time trying to figure it out and use that time for things like drinking and glueing your fingers to frag plugs, the carpet or your beer. Ive yet to glue my hand to a beer, despite what my gf says, the other 2 ive done already, more than once.

Way ahead of ya'. My original post was just to find out if it was worth keeping in the tank... or not. I actually wear gloves when I use superglue, not because I'm worried about getting stung or poisoned, or all that jazz, but because I HATE the feeling of superglue on my fingers for the next few days. I like my beers frosty, so the moisture might strengthen the bond. As long as it was a big enough beer, I don't think I'd mind.

Here it is:

Salinity 1.026

Nitrates no3: 5.0 (I have not been able to achieve 0 nitrates... since I started about 1/2 a year ago)

no2: 0

PH: 8.2 (This was a new reading for me, it's normally 8)

Ammonia: 0

Calcium: 440

KH: 12

Phosphates: .25 (This is unusual, I've had 0 readings since my tank cycled, which was quick. My guess is overfeeding on my end. I usually feed a cube of Jans, 1/2 in the AM 1/2 in the PM, and in the AM I also throw in sustainable aquatics hatchery pellets.) I have also just started target feeding Reef Roids, so my corals might be expelling a bit more waste.

Phosphates way to high for SPS to be happy. Need to work on getting those down to under .1 KH is also high.

Would my guess be accurate as to WHY? Skimmer back on should help. I'll do a water change tonight, cut back on my feeding.

Yes, skimmer will help, do you use any type of phosphate media?

Negative. Suggestions? I was considering carbon this morning, don't know how much that would help.

I use GFO. Start with half of the recommeneded dosage. A reactor works best, but putting it in a media bag in a high flow area works to.

So I could potentially drop it in a filter sock under my drain in the sump?

get your water chemistry stable without adding any corals for 2 months.

Not the suggestion I was looking for, but I believe that's a good idea.

Yes cut back on feeding the corals, corals live off of fish poop, until you get your nitrates to zero and your phosphates reading zero, don't worry about feeding them.

Look into gfo. Or Give biopellets a try

I've found my system like all around 9 and stability is very key

Might as well check the eater goin in on a water change or top off in case that's the reason

Also how many fish .....2 cubes and pellets a day is A lot if you ask me
