Species Tank

That itis a great idea Rob. I have always wanted to set up a tank like that with Sea grass, cardinals, long spine urchins, and maybe garden eels. Maybe even some gonipora...all of those things appear naturally together.

I thought about Anthias but they have more aggression issues than Cardinals.

I've even thought about a big school of Damsels or Chromis.

Instead of Acroporas, I might go with Gorgonians and their ilk which will push me towards Caribbean species.

I saw two holocanthus worms with symbiotic emperor shrimp in a small LFS yesterday... That would make a cool species tank!

A deep sand bed and a mated pair of yellowheaded jawfish.

The Philly Zoo had a large tank with a dozen yellowheaded jawfish and sea grass in it and that looked really cool. I think a tank like that but with gorgonians or ricordia mixed in instead of the grass would be a pretty cool Caribbean tank.

I have a few of those cardinals and they do not like the flow required for all of my SPS. If I were to do a species tank, it would be a minimalist 24x24x18 rimless (with a net) with a pair of candy basslets and a zoa garden with very blue lights.

The emperor shrimp I was talking about... Right up your alley, Rob!
