Got two bt anemones recently, one large, one small. Lost the small one for weeks, thought he'd perished, but found him today in my sump, stuck on one of the overflow pipes. My question is this, can he survive down there with no lights other than ambient room light? Should I move him back to my DT, and if yes, how. Thx to all in advance.

He definitely needs to go back to the DT asap....just be extremely gentle when removing his foot from the pipe so it doesn't tear. I have had good luck using an ice cube and gently with my finger extracting the foot from the surface..

+1. It can go a few days with no light but nothing long term.

FWIW, you can shred a BTA and they will usually grow back from shreds. Very hardy and durable but definitely needs light or it will die.

Since it has been in a little to no light for weeks you will want to make sure not to shock it with too much light. Place it in a corner near the bottom so it can get acclimated to the light again. Try feeding it once settled in so it maintains energy.

+1 don't want to go from one extreme to another - good point!

thx, everyone. I very carefully inched my fingers under his foot, working around the edges, until he let go. Then I moved him to a darker corner of my dt, gave him a bite of Jan's Food, and all seems well. Thx to all for your advice.
