Chad November 14, 2012 November 14, 2012 Holy cow. I just looked this one up on Live Aquaria. Maximum length of 2-feet? (I wonder how many every get close to this in a tank?) 360 gallon minimum tank size? It must have quite an appetite and, similarly, a lot of waste to deal with. I was snorkelling with some last week that were as long as my forearm and almost as wide as my fist! They are very impressive fish, that's for sure!
SunWyrm November 14, 2012 November 14, 2012 A someone with a 360, I don't feel that even that size would be very comfortable.
Fishie November 15, 2012 Author November 15, 2012 Yay, so glad they are doing well. They are lucky to have you working so hard for them! Hehe Ty...in a 135 ATM...and it's 2.5 -3 inches...once he gets to about 4.5 inches I'll start looking to rehome...to a nice big tank...they get pretty as they grow...already comes up to the tank front and follows me around...I may just have to upgrade cuz of it...shrug...
Origami November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 Take pictures of him monthly. It would be neat to see him grow since he'll obviously get bigger more quickly than most.

When I added him...it had some grayish patches on the skin...was black in color for 2 days straight ...and when it turned lighter grey I could very clearly see the lateral line...skinny I fed it almost every 1 hr lol...it ate a lot...today the lateral line is not that visible..and all patches are gone It's definetely doing well I'll be sure to take some pics this weekend Edited November 15, 2012 by Fishie
Fishie November 16, 2012 Author November 16, 2012 (edited) another unexpected update lol...my inital order had a mystery wrasse too..that was backordered ...and i got a notification that it was shipped a week late ...and the email comes in at 2am!! i was at work when i saw this mail the following day (yesterday morning)...so i had to ask my wife to do her "best" over the phone...the wrasse wasnt looking to good from the sound of it over the phone laying on the side anyways came home to see my qt tank cloudy and the wrasse breathing very shallow like it was upon arrival..i had no idea what made the tank cloudy anyways ..did an emergency new qt tank ...and it was still quite sluggish laying sideways...tried feeding mysis didnt seem interested...thought its a gonner...made it swim in front of the powerhead by hand in couple sessions... next morning it is looking better and swimming...will monitor and see if it eats today ..will be psyched if he pulls through too Edited November 16, 2012 by Fishie
Coral Hind November 17, 2012 November 17, 2012 It sounds like she did a good job of saving it. It seems kind of common for wrasses to lay on their side in bare tanks when first introduced and scared.
Fishie November 17, 2012 Author November 17, 2012 Here are pics of the swallowtail and vlamingi tang I took more pics that I'll put up on tank thread of the corals etc and th eir growth over last few months
