epleeds November 7, 2012 Share November 7, 2012 (edited) stand is looking good. you going to trim it out all the way or just where your at with it? How wide is that stand. it looks huge compared to the tank. Edited November 7, 2012 by epleeds
pizzaguy November 7, 2012 Author Share November 7, 2012 Yeah I still got a ways to go on the crown. I have no idea how to do crown so this is gonna ne interesting. I'm no carpenter by any means so this far I'm teaching myself as I go. Stand width.lol. this is where the reverse sicology comes in to play with the other half. I built it 48x36 because I'm always looking to the future.lol . So when I feel I understand how to have a successful reef all I have to do is buy a bigger tank. 48" stand-check. 2 radions-check. 48x18 sump- check. See where this is going!! pizzaguy November 20, 2012 Author Share November 20, 2012 Well, stand is almost complete. Picked up a mp60 yesterday. Yeah you read it right. I know extreme overkill but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Hopefully I can dial it back enough so it doesn't cause a tornado in my tank. Picking up a different skimmer this weekend. Super reef octopus xp3000e. Again extremely oversized. Bit I assure you when its time to upgrade I will be 100% ready.
pizzaguy November 20, 2012 Author Share November 20, 2012 Also picked up tir lenses for the radions. Anyone with experience care to share there programming on the radions would be greatly appreciated. I know absolutely nothing about programming these lights. pizzaguy November 21, 2012 Author Share November 21, 2012 Honestly haven't figured it out yet. Would like to try some lps and sps if I feel I understand it well enough. Up to this point I've only kept softies. Only thing I still wanna get is a controller and dosing pumps for 2 part then I think I'm set on equipment. pizzaguy November 23, 2012 Author Share November 23, 2012 my newest additions!!! i think my skimmer has more water volume than my tank. mp 60 will be very ammusing at best. so help me with a stocklist that likes extreme water flow!!

tpallas November 23, 2012 Share November 23, 2012 Looks like you won't have a problem with SPS in this setup. Let the tank mature and try some montipora!
tpallas November 23, 2012 Share November 23, 2012 Are you not using the SWC? They are great skimmers.
pizzaguy November 23, 2012 Author Share November 23, 2012 No. I'm gonna sell it. I know it would have worked great but I got such a good deal on the red one I couldn't pass it up. Got it for $340.00 I know its overkill but I will never have to upgrade or but another skimmer, I will pass it down for generations!! Lol
pizzaguy November 23, 2012 Author Share November 23, 2012 I have a question for the more experienced reefers. I'm trying to not have to use filter socks. Here are my plans thus far. 60 cube, 2 radions, sump is huge 4ft by 18" three chamber, mag 12 or 9.5 undecided, red skimmer in pics, gfo, carbon, and bio pellet reactor if needed. And dosers for 2 part. And a controller. So the questions are do you think I can get away without filter socks and do you see anything missing from my plans that I should have? BowieReefer84 November 23, 2012 Share November 23, 2012 Is that a joke, or are you really going to use an MP60?
pizzaguy November 23, 2012 Author Share November 23, 2012 Well I already have it and it needs to be used or I'm gonna try to do some trading and get two mp40.
