Those ones fall in the "not bad" but maybe a nuisance category if the numbers get really high. My experience is they ebb and flow and sometimes disappear entirely.

 

They are eaten by some wrasses and feed on copepods.

If you have any fish whose primary diet is pods, the worms might take away some of the food supply.
