need some stocking advice

What about a large sand sifting goby. I have seen the orange dotted ones around 4-5", and they are really fun. Obviously this would only be if I decided to add sand to the tank.

The top 4 are definates more or less with room for adjustment on the rest.

I think p. dutoiti (2nd pic) is one of the most underrated fish in the hobby. Cheap, hardy, smart. Mean as H-E-double hockey sticks. My buddy had one that would attack anything that was put into the tank. He managed to catch it and had it in his sump. While out of town, the power went out and everything died except for the dutoiti, which had jumped from the compartment in the sump he was in into the other compartment.

 

I had one and was breaking down my tank. Couldn't find it despite looking over every piece of rock thoroughly. Had the rock out of water for a few hours while I moved things over and also scrubbed off some bubble algae. Put the rock back in and the dutoiti popped out after a couple hours like nothing ever happened.

Im agreeing with you with the dottyback... had one in my trigger tank that ruled till the triggers got big enough to eat him, lol (took about 4 years of him harrassing them almost daily)

 

another good one is the black cap basslet...and chalk bass' have some purple in their body... BRK had some small ones last week when I was there....

I went through about 3 in 5 years.. they dont figure it our quickly,,, but they do figure it out...
