OUsnakebyte March 15, 2012 March 15, 2012 Do they stick on the side and then let go, swim around and then stick again, with tentacles outstretched? I believe they are hydroids. Pretty cool.
Steve175 March 15, 2012 March 15, 2012 I love this hobby: something new every day!!! [AND, not always bad . . . ] Thanks for sharing!!!

They swim around at the surface and then dive down and rise back up. They make the distinct pulsing motion that jellyfish make. Is it bad if they are hydroids?

I wouldn't worry about them. They're mostly a problem for people who raise fish and get hydroids in their fry tanks.
davelin315 March 16, 2012 March 16, 2012 Hydroid jellyfish are not a problem, they come and go periodically and don't stay in the water column for very long. I'm not convinced that's what yours are, though.
