Stu August 8, 2011 Share August 8, 2011 Salt? Is there a better salt then another? I have used instant ocean before because it is readily available but is it a good brand? Instant Ocean is just fine. Salts are just like anything else in this hobby--manufacturers are always coming out with new mixes of salt touting one advantage or another. Instant Ocean is tried and true for many years, and gets the job done. In my opinion, if you're going to pony up some cash for something, I'd say put the money toward something that will perform well for you for years (good skimmer for example)--not expensive salt.
