  1. Awesome video, how long did it take the clown fish to approach the anemone?
  2. OK, so no one is really a big fan of the SCWD?
  3. Does anyone have a "Switching Current Water Director (SCWD)"? What are your opinions? Do they work well for your tanks and do they last? Is there any maintenance? Important question: there are two sizes 3/4" an 1" the cost is double from one to the other. would anyone recomend running a 1" pipe from the return pump and decrease it down to 3/4" to the SCWD and then run the 3/4" out of the SCWD and increase the pipes back up to 1" going to the tank, to save money by buying the 3/4" unit?
  4. I have experienced the stunting growth phenomena with gold fish personally. I had 2 gold fish in a 3 gallon tank for 2 years and they never really grew much. I set up a 10 gallon tank and they grew twice the size in about a week after moving them to a larger tank. Then I put them in a 55 gallon tank and they grew so fast that the one I think grew so fast it died. I will agree with you that is most likely, only true with gold fish but I thought I would ask the questions anyway.
  5. How fast do the fish grow in an aquarium? Will the tank size stunt the growth of a salt water fish like sometimes happen to gold fish?
  6. Chad - I am not intending to put LPS corals in my tank, a clam yes, do you think the coal beauty would nip at SPS?
  7. Thanks Ryan, I was just looking there before I posted this. I am unsure about some of those on that list. For example, the clown gobies, it says they are reef safe but in their description it says they can nip at the plops of the SPS coral.
  8. OK, so I have been trying to avoid asking this questions and trying to find the answer with my own research but I keep finding contradictory information. I would like to know what are good fish to keep in a 40 gallon breeder tank? I would like 2 clown fish with an anemone. After that I am open to options. I would like to keep SPS coral and some zoos. I would like to have a coral beauty angel but I have read they will nip at corals. I would like to keep a small blue hippo tang but have read they should be kept in larger tanks. I am looking for peaceful, colorful, reef safe and invertebrate safe fish. Any and all opinions are appreciated and all stories from experience are appreciated. Thank you!
  9. RapidLED has a 4 moon light kit minus the heat sink for $18. And no I will probably need 3 drivers. I have not totally worked that out yet so I may change the arangments because of that.
  10. After Doing a bunch of reading this is my first attempt a LEDs for my 40 Breeder what does everyone think? (4) Cool White (8) Natural White (4) Blue (12) Royal Blue (3) Moon (No Optics) Sorry if the picture is bad, it is my first time posting a pic.
  11. Has anyone else checked out the above link? I skimmed through all the posts. One main thing they figured out was a 2:1 ratio of Blue to white and mixing royal blue with blue because the blue brings out colors in some coal that the royal blue does not. This is completely got me back to the drawing board for my LED set up. Thanks Stu for posting the link!
  12. Has anyone tried using two dimmer switches with 1 driver? For example if I wanted to use 6 royal blue and 6 blue LEDs and wanted to dim them separately but only use 1 driver is that possible? I was thinking of having them come on and off at the same time but adjust them separately so I can dial in the color.
