Swimboy123 June 7, 2011 June 7, 2011 Hey all; I'm interested in getting a pair of Blue Throat Triggerfish for my 150 reef. Somebody can get all sorts of conflicting information on the internet regarding species and I have found some supporting these fish in a captive reef and some info that nixes it. Can anyone provide their two cents on whether this is a good idea or not? Thanks!
roni June 7, 2011 June 7, 2011 have had 2 different blue throats over the years. never a problem with them. great reef citizen and planktivore ime.
rocko918 June 7, 2011 June 7, 2011 I had a pair and still have the male but i want him out. He is eating my zoos. He decimated my zoos so i had to move them all the frag tank till i can get him out. Not easy to do in a 210. Does not bother my shrimp.
Max Ivers June 7, 2011 June 7, 2011 (edited) Mine is a model citizen and even is getting picked on by my 2 maroon clowns. They are 2" max and the trigger is 6" (male). It did try to hunt my coral banded shrimp but other than that has been awesome. Definately a good addition. ps I returned the coral banded shrimp the next day before the trigger could eat it. and it was a HUGE shrimp (4-5" across claws) Edited June 7, 2011 by Max Ivers

roni June 7, 2011 June 7, 2011 (edited) man, that sucks. if you want, I'll relocate some of your zoos to my tank for safekeeping Edited June 7, 2011 by roni
