The new Photon Cannon has been installed above the 60, replacing the 'old' PAR 38's. It's definitely much brighter overall and the glass optic makes a big difference- zero spotlighting. Somehow I'll have to rig up some 453's or just buy the 453nm Photon Cannon so I can get a dawn to dusk effect.

The cost of 4) PAR 38's and associated fixture is almost exactly the same as the Cannon.

The 1st set of pictures are on 'Auto' setting, and the 2nd set is on 'Vivid' setting.

I'll post pics of the fixture tonight.

I get these from a vendor in Arizona. I have yet to see one offered to the general public.

How do the corals seem to be reacting to it..? Did you get the PAR numbers yet..?

It has only been one day. No numbers yet, but it'll be more than the P38's.

any shots of the bulb/light itself?

Here ya go-

Here is a article on glassbox . . . you must have inspired him.

I did speak with Eric about these and have sent him pictures. When I get my new par meter, I'll be sending him the data also. I'm considering the purchase of the 50w 453nm Photon Cannon as well and will be testing that.

This email to me from Ecoxotic:

Hi Rob,

Thanks for purchasing our Cannon LED pendant, we've not "officially" launched these yet, so I'd be happy to provide you with further information on them.

All of our products come with a one-year warranty. As long as the Cannon is not placed in a hot environment (like inside a canopy) or retrofitted with a different heat sink, the LED should last 50,000 hours.

Edison made these chips specifically for us, they do not offer them to any other companies - so you won't find any standard bin data on their website for these. The chips are 12,000K not 10,000K, and Edison tested them at 80lm/watt.

The 453nm is also a chip Edison made for us, its a single 50 watt LED chip used for spotlight/color enhancement/PAR supplementation. We are already testing the elliptical module, but the tooling is not complete for a whole fixture assembly yet.

We do have the 100 watt version in our showroom and have shown a few hobbyists, but have not done any testing on it yet.
