Where's the best place to order for clean up crews? what are people's preferences in terms of crabs/snails/etc?

I'm looking at reefs2go.com, which looks promising but i'd like to hear other people's opinions.

I got my last crew from reefs2go, they had pretty good prices and everything arrived just fine. The snails that I order from them a few months back just spawned, now I have hundreds of little snails all over the glass.

I would order everything seperately then buying one of their "packages". On many of the packages the pricing is way higher depending on what you choose to get. For example you can choose 60 blue leg crabs or 15 red leg crabs, the blue leg would cost 30 bucks or the reds would cost 9 bucks, thats a HUGE difference. Just decide what you want to get and see which way is cheaper. They also have sales all the time, buy one get one free. The blue legs are on sale now, so you could get those cheaper if you bought them seperately, as Im sure they wont give you twice as many if you bought the package with blue legs.

Oh I forgot, the CUC packages have free shipping, so you'll have to factor that in as well. But for the things that I wanted to buy I typicaly saved about 5-10 bucks ordering everything seperately.

I have always gotten got service from reefcleaners.org - might I recommend left-handed hermits - my large 1" mature one eats GHA better then a turbo- actually he's hiding as one.

great suggestions! thanks everyone. will check the reeftopia and reefcleaners sites

for a 180, how does the following package sound (from reefstogo)

150 bl hermits

4 emeralds

70 nassarius

70 ceriths

50 margarita snails

2 sea cucs

2 sally lightfoots

would you add anything? i've got a 3" sand bed.

couldn't find the left leg hermits on the reefcleaners site

I haven't had a big tank in some time but the Margarita's were great cleaners but didn't last long for me - sally lightfoots get carnivorous, my emeralds would upset my LPS while clinging to them.

my 2cents is too add them in 3 smaller batches as your food sources gradually increase, mix up the hermits, add nerites and astrea instead of margarita, and forgo the sally. A 180 has alot of sandbed but you might back off so many Nass unless you tend to overfeed as they'll only eat meaty foods.

sorry - Left-handed - I was hoping you'd call and ask for Left leg though

I just ordered from reef cleaners.... should arrive Tuesday. I'll let you know what I think.

And I agree, less hermits, more snails. I have gone with no more hermits and just use snails now.

Laura

sounds good. i've always had good success with scarlet hermits and having at least 1 mithrax. reeftopia has a nice deal on astreas...they have a golden astraea listed as well, anyone have any experience?

laura, definitely let me know how your order turns out.

they told me they had only right handed ones and someone had bought out all the lefties :)
