Marineland 250 gallon 60 X 36 X 27 Deep Dimensions Tank

Anyone have one of these and could tell me how thick the glass is on the sides and back panels? I'm itching to upgrade to this tank and want to mount 2 MP40's on each side and 2 on the back wall but will need to change plans if the glass is thicker than 3/4".

I have seen many of these on RC with the vortechs, so im guessing its not a problem. Just go to the large tank forum

Very few aquariums are built with greater than 3/4" glass. My guess is 1/2", which is typically used up to 30" tall and 8' long. 5/8" glass is often used for the bottoms or longer 30" tall tanks. 3/4" is usually only for 36"+ tall. Above that you get two layers of 1/2" laminated to make 1" which is what I have as the front of my tank at 44" tall.

+1 You'll be fine. I would imagine you'll need more than 2 MP40's though.

I counted SIX .. two on EACH side and two on the back

I have a smaller version 36x36x27 and i think it has the same glass thickness. I also run a MP40 and have no issues with the glass.
