dbartco August 27, 2009 August 27, 2009 Those wishing to donate corals to the NADC may do so Sat night. Just bring to the aquarium with you and Andrew will gladly take. Those wishing to donate large colonies please LMK beforehand so we can get it approved first. These will be going into qt, but please try to dip them first.
capsfan August 27, 2009 August 27, 2009 By the way, I want an updated photo of this tank posted here after the meeting. I saw it in person last year this time, but I want to see how it has progressed.
Almon August 27, 2009 August 27, 2009 Doug, I have a giant Hydnophora with rock that I would donate if they would accept it. It's extremely flourescent green, undoubtedly a crowd pleaser, but I don't believe it's on the list of regional corals around Guam. If they want it, let me know.
dbartco August 28, 2009 Author August 28, 2009 Thanks almon, let me check in the am when I am on the other pc
dbartco August 28, 2009 Author August 28, 2009 In the more detailed listing in the pdf, Hydnophora sp. was listed. Have a pic you might be able to forward? I will check out your totm...
Coral Hind August 28, 2009 August 28, 2009 By the way, I want an updated photo of this tank posted here after the meeting. I saw it in person last year this time, but I want to see how it has progressed. I saw it last Sunday and it looked really sad to me. It was covered with hair algae and the SPS looked like they bleaching. Flowerseller's donated Turbinaria peltata was still looking awesome as always!

dbartco August 28, 2009 Author August 28, 2009 Andrew said he would defintiely appreciate it. I have not seen the tank in a while, not sure of the state. We may have to do some more "encouraging" of the maintainance.

dbartco September 1, 2009 Author September 1, 2009 I heard the exact same thing from a friend who recently visited. I didn't think it was bad. There we a few spots of hair algae. Nothing like I was expecting (if anyone remembers the previous tank). LPS was ok, sps wasn't doing well except for the poccillopora. The greens had dropped babies in about 12 locations, and the rose anemone had split, so life couldn't be too bad in there. The have AC back in the room there, so that should help out a lot. Because of the security situation, we didn't have a good sit down behind the scenes and discuss. We'll have to schedule another time to talk about future improvements.
