Display Tank Lighting

I would like to know how long other members have their display tank lighting on for.

 

I have my lights turning on at 7am and turning off at 7pm. Do you think that is too long or is it ok?

I have 7x54watt t-5 and am running about the same +- 1 hour...

 

have been for years...no issues...

My t5's are on from 8-9 and halides are on 10-6

My T-5's are on for12 hours and my Metal halides 10 hours.

About the same.... 6-7 MH's - 11 hour T-5's

 

I dose brightwells about the same....couple squirts here, couple there.....I'll measure stuff one day.....lol

I have three stages of mostly T5's (7 T5's and 1 VHO) that provide graduated lighting. Sunrise to sunset is 12 hours for two lamps (240W) only. The second stage is on 10 hours (5 total lamps, 480W) and the third stage is on 8 hours (8 lamps, 720W).

Thanks for the link DDiver. After reading it I am going to try with 6 hrs of MH instead of my current 8 see if I see better coloration.
