overklok February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 I was checking to see if you had an OC8 for an AquaController III in stock. Thanks
Origami February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 You mean DC8's, I think.
flowerseller February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 You also might want to examine what you plan to hook to the O/D C8. Sometimes 2 DC4HD's are better suited, but a tad more expensive short term.
overklok February 12, 2009 Author Share February 12, 2009 Thanks for correcting me, I meant DC8. For now I am planning on hooking up my calcium reactor with intenal pH probe and running my two DE250 MH bulbs off the timer. What are DC4HD's? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each? I have heard of a DC4 (or OC4 if you are uninformed like myself!!!) Thanks for info
Coral Hind February 12, 2009 Share February 12, 2009 (edited) The DC4HD (heavy duty) model is made to handle the in rush amps of electronic ballasts that the regular DC4 will not. DC4 - Max 8 Amps, total current must be less than 10 Amps DC4HD - Max 12 Amps, total current must be less than 15 Amps Edited February 12, 2009 by Coral Hind

Thanks for info You'll be fine running this off of a DC8 (the current limit per socket - there are 8 of them on the DC8 - is 6 amps) as long as the DE bulbs are on individual power cords and you plug them into separate sockets. If you've got your equipment really spread out, you may find yourself needing multiple outlet banks, in which case you could go with multiple DC8's, DC4's (either the DC4 or DC4HD), or a combination.
