amay121 April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 If we were to get one started, how many units would the GB need to purchase and what kind of discounts can we get? If you could also give me a breakdown of either getting a loaded AC Jr. or AC III?
FishWife April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 (edited) This club did a fall group buy: here were the prices. http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?show...ler++group++buy I doubt much has changed. I put up a thread in the Group Buy forum. http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21693 If we have interest, I'll be willing to follow through with administration. If you could also give me a breakdown of either getting a loaded AC Jr. or AC III? Sure, I can put together a new price list. Believe it or not but some of the prices went down! I will work up new prices and post them here, it will be up to someone to head up the group buy as it will require one lump payment. The units can be picked up here if you like. john

amay121 April 21, 2008 Author April 21, 2008 (edited) Johnny, You didn't include a price for just a DC4 (non-HD). Could you include this as well, since I'm looking to get the ACJr. with DC8 and DC4 together. Edited April 21, 2008 by amay121

EBR April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 Yay! A third thread on the same group buy ;-) 'tis OK, I'm tracking 'em all. Matt
jnguyen4007 April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 I can run two DC8s off one AC Jr, correct? No, according to Neptunesys website, you can hook up one DC8 and one DC4HD or three DC4HD. If you want more than one DC8, you will need an ACIII.
johnnybv April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 No, according to Neptunesys website, you can hook up one DC8 and one DC4HD or three DC4HD. If you want more than one DC8, you will need an ACIII. Correct, the JR only runs 12 outlets.
johnnybv April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 You told me I'd want to upgrade within 6 months! For those considerding the JR, a word of caution......most people are upgrading to a ACIII in about 6 months to a year. and now with the price on the ACIII coming down 100 bucks, its almost a no brainer in my book. John
gastone April 21, 2008 April 21, 2008 You are killing my Johnny. I just used the remainder of my tax return to pay off a bunch of bills. It is probably a good thing. Garrett.
EBR April 22, 2008 April 22, 2008 (edited) I understand that there are two types of probes available: pH only, or pH/ORP. Sorry to sound like a dummy, but what is ORP? Thanks. Matt EDIT (later): Never mind. I see now that it has to do with injecting ozone. By the way, which of the two threads regarding this GB is the one to sign up with orders (I've got what I want to order :-)? Perhaps the other could be closed to avoid confusion? Thanks! Matt Edited April 22, 2008 by EBR
amay121 April 22, 2008 Author April 22, 2008 I think Marcia will take the orders in the GB section of the Sell/Trade/WTB/Auction Forums. So when you put yourself up for something, put it up there.
EBR April 22, 2008 April 22, 2008 (edited) Planning on at least a DC8 and a DC4 with this buy. But I've got T5 lighting on a 125g (6 feet wide): 3 daylights, and 2 actinics, each on a separate circuit. Would a DC4 be more appropriate for that load (thinking the DC4 would be dedicated to just the lighting), or will a DC8 suffice while providing more sockets to play with? Other things to control would be top off sensors, small pumps, moon lights, etc. Thanks. Matt Edited April 22, 2008 by EBR
flowerseller April 22, 2008 April 22, 2008 Matt, DC8 will handle that load. DC4HD great for chillers, large heaters, a bunch of halides, and so forth.
ErikS April 22, 2008 April 22, 2008 DC8 = Max 6 Amps, total current must be less than 15 Amps DC4 = Max 8 Amps, total current must be less than 10 Amps DC4HD = Max 12 Amps, total current must be less than 15 Amps DC8 & DC4HD can handle high inrush currents & don't suffer from e-ballast interference (mostly applies to X-10 units). Like gallons in a tank, you can never have too many outlets
yauger April 22, 2008 April 22, 2008 If this GB gets kicked off I'm in for: ACIII w/temp probe $270.95 DC8 combo price $135.95 Stan pH probe $38.95 Total: $445.85 also would it be best to have 2 pH probes to run a calc reactor?
