notajr.fan April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 Spent the morning visiting the various LFS's around Alexandria. Must say Wally's is starting to look like pretty good. Anyway it seems the going rate for a megaflow overflow kit is $70 which to me seems a bit high. Any body have any ideas or locations I can pick one up for a resonable price before I bite the bullet and drop $70 on one. Thanks,

Durso drain would be easy and the return would depend on how you want to set it up... I also have a couple extra bulkheads here from my 125G install.
extreme_tooth_decay April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 Seems I paid about $40 at Roozens a while back. I'd give them a call. tim
jamesbuf April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 I agree with making your own. Its soooo much cheaper. Its really not that hard to do either.
tygger April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 If you're not sure of what pieces comprise of the "durso" kit, search online for pics and put one together yourself for much cheaper.
notajr.fan April 12, 2008 Author April 12, 2008 If I were to make make my own, what pieces would I need? This is the first reef ready tank I've owned. Besides the the two bulkheads I"m lost.

Besides the the two bulkheads I"m lost. for the drain, pretty much a 1.5" to 1" reducer, 1" pvc pipe, a T, a 90 degree and a cap. For the return, you'll need 3/4" pvc, 90 degree fitting, and depending on how you want to route the return, you could get a threaded 90 to a loc-line, or 3/4" to SeaSwirl, or 3/4" to a 45 degree down to your tank.
jason the filter freak April 13, 2008 April 13, 2008 there are many advantages to nuilding your own not the least that the whole kit would probably only cost you $15 to make most of that being the cost of loc line
