Guest webshout January 18, 2008 Share January 18, 2008 Ok, a questions for the older (more experienced ) reefers. Over the next month or so, I'm going to switch my cc for sand. I'm going to start with my 29g and then move on to my 75g. So, any thoughts on what to do with this used substrate? Thanks, William
YBeNormal January 18, 2008 Share January 18, 2008 Rinse it lightly and use it to fill holes in your yard, as spot accents in a flower bed...
jason the filter freak January 18, 2008 Share January 18, 2008 leave a little of it behind in the tank to add contrast to the sand bed.

treesprite January 18, 2008 Share January 18, 2008 some interesting ideas. I didn't know what to do with mine because living in an apartment there was nothing it would help and no one I knew wanted it, so it went in the dumpster. Better to recycle it than dump it. Hey, speaking of Craigs List, maybe you could get "that guy" to buy it
Guest webshout January 19, 2008 Share January 19, 2008 I'll take it if you don't want it. Some very interesting suggestions. I love the kidney stone one! But I'll pass it along to ctenophore, once I get the tanks cleaned out. I'll diary my calendar to PM you once it's done. If you still want it then, it's yours. Thanks, William

Antiguan January 20, 2008 Share January 20, 2008 Mine went in the window wells and by the gutter down spouts That's a great idea - now I know what to do with mine. One of the many bad purchases I made before joining WAMAS.
