discretekarma November 18, 2007 November 18, 2007 As a return customer, Saltwaterfish.com let me pick a free item. The one I picked was an anemone crab. It has been pretty neat to look at over the past week until today. I saw that where it used to hang out there was a chewed up mushroom. Then this morning it was under a new mushroom and it appeared to be eating this new mushroom as well. Is something else eating my mushrooms and this guy just happens to be in the same place or is this crab feasting on my mushrooms? I'll give it away on here or bring it to a LFS if it's eating my mushrooms. Has anyone ever experienced this or is it a bad coincidence for this crab?

discretekarma November 18, 2007 Author November 18, 2007 It's not a great picture but it's the best I could get. It looks like a Porcelain crab but has hairy legs.
jason the filter freak November 18, 2007 November 18, 2007 I think thats a gorilla crab, if you don't want him I'm game
jamesbuf November 18, 2007 November 18, 2007 That doesn't look like any porcelain crab I've ever seen. Jason may be right.
traveller7 November 19, 2007 November 19, 2007 Definitely not a filter feeding crab, i.e. the "the anemone crab". It appears to have flat claw tips, typical of mithrax sculptus, but I don't think it is sculptus. I would remove it if I saw it on an animal showing any damage.
bk_market November 19, 2007 November 19, 2007 definitely not anemone crab. i have a few in my tank so i know. usually hairy legs mean bad from my experience
