Bob November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I just ordered a bottle of Selcon (vitamin stuff) because I had read about some reefers using. Anyone here have any experience using? Results? How often? What foods do you add it to? Thanks. Bob
davelin315 November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I use it periodically, I think that it's a good product and that it helps with making sure they have a well balanced diet.
Sugar Magnolia November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 (edited) Occasionally I buy live brine and add the selcon to the brine a day or so before I feed the brine shrimp to the fish. I've also added it to frozen forumlas as they thaw out. Edited November 4, 2007 by Sugar Magnolia
smarsh97 November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I use it a lot. I add it to my flake food and frozen food. Sandy
dschflier November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I use it on occasion for most of the reasons other people stated. 6 months after I started using selcon I had a full head of hair as well.
lancer99 November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I put two drops into my Cheetos every morning, and not only is my coloration great, but I've never plagued by pesky algae. -R OH I should read more carefully....dschflier beat me to the punch! Seriously, I always used to add a bit to my fish food....not sure if it helped, but it didn't seem to hurt, either. -R
tygger November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 Does selcon have an expiration date? I bought a bottle a while ago, but never used it...
rottloverr November 4, 2007 November 4, 2007 I have been using it as well for a couple weeks. It is best used with freeze dried food because it soaks up the Selcon. It also got very good reviews from what I've read. Cheers, Sean
dandy7200 January 6, 2008 January 6, 2008 Selcon kills the head on a skimmer IME. After feeding is the worst possible time to loose that head. Look at the ingredients of your fish food, does it look like you need to supplement extra fat in their diet? FWIW, this is one of the best articles I have EVER read on fish nutrition. http://www.reefland.com/forum/marine-fish-...-nutrition.html
