squiddly August 13, 2007 August 13, 2007 I just got two of these kids after a significant amount of research. The experts have told me that it's ok to put certain species of pipefish into my reef display, given that my fish are docile. I'm really excited to have them, and may be setting up another tank for different kinds of pipefish that don't go so well in the reef.
squiddly August 13, 2007 Author August 13, 2007 VFN. by the pic, it looks like it's looking right at me How do you know he isn't? *cue twilight zone music here...*

I don't think I can do it, 'cause my two aggressive fish I haven't been able to catch, but I'm curious to know regardless.

He has bandeds right now and alligators, but the experts tell me that the alligators wouldn't do well in a reef and need a species tank. What are your other fish? I don't think I can do it, 'cause my two aggressive fish I haven't been able to catch, but I'm curious to know regardless. 2 pair of clowns, purple tang (a little one), hippo tang, powder brown tang, magnificent foxface, blue jaw trigger, copper banded butterfly, potters angel, some PJ cardinals. cool pipefish for sure.... I have one also......... my yellow tang and the banded pipefish are quite the buddies.... they hang out all the time together.... YAY! Really nice to see that someone else has them in a reef tank. I'm trying to keep myself from going nuts and putting up tons of little seahorse and pipefish tanks.

You have to let me know if you get any of those in.... please please please. I'm still amazed by that HUGE seahorse you had at the social. I have a pair of Many Banded pipes in a 33g long tank for about 2 months now. Only other fish in there is a coris wrasse. Utterly gorgeous fish. May they live long and prosper :-).

squiddly August 16, 2007 Author August 16, 2007 nice fish guys... question, what is there main diet consist of? does anyone have an issue with these guys not eating? Pods. My tank is full of them so my fingers are very crossed.
yauger August 16, 2007 August 16, 2007 Pods. My tank is full of them so my fingers are very crossed. can they be trained to eat something other than only pods?
rocko918 August 16, 2007 August 16, 2007 they can be trained, i have been trying to get them on frozen mysid. There is a guy on rc who has his eating full size frozen mysid. I had my dragon face pipes eating frozen foods, but have not been able to get these guys on them. When i got the dragon face pipes on frozen foods they were in q-tank. so it was easier.
