In the next week or two im planning to upgrade my tank. Im planning to drill and stack my rock together. Anyone in the area can let me borrow their drill for a day or two? I will need 3/8" and 1/2". Thanx in advance

Huh? Are you looking for drill bits or drills with 2 different size chucks? Worst case scenario, buy the drill at the hardware store and then return it when you're done with it if you truly don't need a drill. I'd lend you one of mine but I'm doing a lot of work in the house and need them all (that and I don't want to use any of them with saltwater applications as they're nice drills for the most part).

thanx for the advice Dave. I think im gonna head to acehardware to buy one then return it. What kind of drill should i use for drilling 3/4" and 1/2" on the rock?

I would get a corded drill, any kind should be fine as long as it is not a cheap wimpy one. I would avoid battery powered and you don't want a hammer drill for this application.

Please don't do this. I am so tired of buying stuff at the hardware store, and then getting it home to find it damaged or parts missing. Just buy a drill. They are not that expensive, and very handy to have around.

i will try to buy a cheap one. do i have to buy seperate drill for 3/8 and 1/2 or i can buy one and switch drill bit?

Hung,

The drill bits are sold separately, sometime in packs. I think for that size bit, you will need to buy the bits by themselves. As for the drill, a corded one is really cheap nowaday so you can grab one easily.

agreed. if you don't need one rent one. Home depot rents tools all the time.
