Hi everyone,

I've been a longtime WAMAS lurker, but now I have to take down my beloved 75g. tank because med skool is occupying so much of my time that I cant dedicate the same amount effort i've poured into it over the last 6 years. I dont know how the WAMAS overlords feel about me posting this thread here, but i'm sure they'll stop me if this is the wrong place for this.

If you are interested in any of the following items then please PM me or just reply here in this discussion thread.

The following I would like to give up for adoption ASAP(like friday night) AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A STABLE AND NON-OVERPOPULATED TANK:

female Ocellaris clown(tank raised and purchased as androgynous juvenile from The Reef Tank 6 years ago)

2 or 3 mushrooms with 1 or 2 inch diameters(purchased from Exotic Aquatics about 5 years ago)

Here is the rest:

~90 lbs of Tonga Live rock and some are solid chunks that are frickin heavy(purchased from Dr. Mac about 5 years ago)

Turbelle

Ouch...

When dismantling, you may post anywhere in the public forums. Good luck selling, wish you were closer.

Sorry to hear you have to dismantle...

I am interested in the mushrooms for my 180g tank.

I am interested in some sand and some live rock for a 35g tank I recently purchased.

Also possibly interested in autofeeder and kalk reactor.

I'm in western alexandria, so can pick up at some point.

I'm interested in the auto to-off switch, and 2nd for the mushrooms.

forgot to add in the PM that I'm also in need of the Nilsen(Kalk) reactor wondering if you can get me a price.

For the Kalk Reactor, you might want to check out Dandy7200's Kalk. I've purchased one of his and very happy with it. Very easy to setup, use, refill lime and cleanup the waste. HTH!

Just to update:

The light is in limbo right now as someone mulls my $150 price tag.

The RO, tunze kit, and auto feeder are spoken for.

I think the rock and sand are also in the process of negotiations between 2 unfortunate souls who are going to have to drag that crap out of the tank. To think I had almost forgotten how it felt to lift a sharp 30 lb rock :)

I believe the clown and her shrooms have also been adopted so as soon as her new family contacts me for final confirmation, she will be officially off the market.

Now then, the kalk reactor. If any one is interested in buying it for 50 bucks then just PM me. If there is more than one person interested then I'll just have to sell it to the first person who PMs me when they see this. I should add that the inlet and outlet were modified by my request and meant for hookup to a hose from a maxijet 1200.

The only thing left is the sump, separate skimmer, and separate refugium. Oh wait, someone had asked about the float switch. So that we're all clear here, this switch was designed to fit into my sump which has a specific slot for it to sit in. If you decide to buy this switch then you will have to get a little creative in order for it to sit in a stable position. If you buy my sump(or have another lifereef sump), then that wont be an issue for you :)

Thanks everyone for the interest and my apologies to the mods. I'm used to frequenting discussion forums where misplacement of any thread is promptly locked and/or banished.

Is that a valve actuator on the switch? I'm was just looking for something to turn a small pump on/off.

Hmm.. how to describe it. There's a plastic float switch inside of the clear acrylic column. It works by completing a circuit when the water level is low enough which then flips on my maxijet topoff water bin. It works really well once you "calibrate" it to the water level you desire. Calibrating it for me and my sump basically consisted of raising and lowering a white PVC ring that fit snugly around the clear acrylic column so that the entire unit did not just slip through the pre-fabricated slot in my sump. Very low tech, but Jeff Turcheck kept it flexible/easy and it's the simplicity that's made it so reliable all of these years.

I can try to answer more questions about it, but if you goto http://www.lifereef.net, I'm sure jeff turcheck can give you a much more sophisticated response about this product. In fact, he can even make a harness for you if you dont have one of his sumps(for a price of course).

can you post a picture of the kalk reactor?

thanks a million!

Wow, I didnt think I'd be able to find a picture, but mine looks almost exactly like this except mine does not have a black square base like the one in the picture. I wish I had accurate dimensions, but I think it's about 2 feet tall with ~5 in diameter. It's got kalk grime at the bottom though so youre going to need some white vinegar and elbow grease to clean it off. PM me if still interested.

Previously mentioned:

The Tunze kit, RODI unit, and auto feeder have been promised to someone.

The sand has also been promised to some burly gentlemen.

The clown and her shrooms have been adopted.

As an update on the items remaining:

I'm still not entirely sure about the rock any more since i'm still waiting for final confirmation from some people, but let's assume that it's spoken for also.

The AB space light is still up for grabs as previous suitors have backed out.

I think there is someone interested in the sump, skimmer, and float switch combo, but thats kind of in limbo at the moment. Sadly, no one has claimed the refugium which is also another nice item from lifereef.

The Nilsen/kalk reactor is similarly sitting in limbo at the moment with someone interested, but not confirmed.

I think that about covers everything until I can find the time to sell the tank off to someone as well.

I know I keep bumping this thread, so I'll try to lay it to rest once I get the remainder of living organisms out of there. The people who are taking my sand are also willing to take half of my rock, but I was wondering if anyone else was looking for ~40-50 lbs of live rock filled with critters and worms and such. It would kill me to watch the critters die from dehydration so I'm letting the remainder of the rock go for 20 bucks as long as you can find a nice home for them AND stop by my place on friday night to pick it up.

Either PM or discuss here.
