Thanks guys!!

Chris, I've had 2 pairs from BRK. Both did excellent. Unfortunately a $30 fish whiped out $1500 worth of fish in a 40 breeder about a month ago. Anyway, the first set of clowns were in there. :( These guys were paired up at the store!! I would definately suggest them again!!

Khanh, I believe they can breed in our own tanks. I am not 100% sure. But I think they can.

Rik, the pics you posted made me want them so bad....

Anyway, Khanh, about them breeding, They will breed but something crazy like 11 offspring out of thousands of percs that ORA breeds will actually be a Picasso. That's why they are so hard to get ahold of. Luckily our buddies at BRK are always on the list! :)

That's all for now!

From what I understand -- BRK is one of very few retailers getting Picasso Clowns from ORA. You'll need to speak with John or Byron in regards to getting a pair! They are totally cool fish in my opinion.

Do all picassos have the same pattern markings or are they all different?

Every one is different, but there is a certain requirment for ORA to call them true picassos.

I do belive there are a few other stores in the country that can get them, but I end up shipping a lot of them to the west coast.

woah!!!

so pretty

what makes the coloration diferent

is it a completely different (rare) species that occurs naturally in the oceans or is it a different form of the gene in like an ocellarius or are they artificially genetically altered and CB

sorry for the stupid questions, just interested :)

Someone could tell you for sure - but it appears that once heavy breeding of the species got underway, 'sports' would appear - such as the picasso's. I believe there are other, less popular variations as well.

From my understanding, a collector brought in a percula that had an unusual color pattern something like the picture below. They continue to breed them and a very very small percentage end up actually being sold as picassos. Mine will continue to get darker for a bit longer. Johnny has actually been to ORA and knows the whole scoop i'm sure. Maybe he will chime in again.
