ASaleem91 April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 (edited) I found a pretty good deal on reef central on a ER CS8-2. The only bad part is that it has 2 little one inch cracks by the the inlet pump. The person selling the skimmer says that it doesnt affect its performance and that he has glued it up. Should I buy this skimmer? or is it a bad idea? Heres the picture Thanks, Ali Edited April 12, 2007 by ASaleem91
rooroo April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 They're made out of acrylic, right? Acrylic is very easy to repair, so if he's glued it up it should be good to go. If the cracks are in plumbing, it all depends on if you can get replacement parts. I can't even see the cracks in that photo which probably means the cracks aren't a big deal. extreme_tooth_decay April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 Even if he hasn't glued the cracks they might not be any big deal. Just a little bit of leakage back into the sump. I wouldn't be concerned about them if the price is right. tim
phisigs79 April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 just be careful not to bump it and make it worst but if he glued it, then it should be ok
