Pics of my 90 gallon tank.
  2. Petland is a franchise. Each store is independently owned. I spoke to the owner and he tried to sell me things that I did not need. He also told me I could put two gobies in my 90 together - I disagree. The guy who manages the fish seems cool though. The fish looked healthy.
  3. Did you add any new fish to the tank? Was he getting picked on at all?
  4. Wait. What did you expect them to do? They said it was NOT THEIR fault yet they were willing to give you your money back or ship another one when they have more in two weeks. What more can you ask for? They ship a lot of bulbs. You really think they don't know how to pack them? They'd be dealing with refunds and replacements on a regular basis.
  5. What time are we talking about on Saturday?
  6. I'm whenever you need muscle, but you don't want me doing anything beyond that.
  7. Somebody enlighten me...why don't the orb-weavers need to be behind glass?
  8. I *may* be losing my tank and my participation in the hobby is sort of in limbo at the moment (long story), but I'll help however I can. I might have a ton of left over used equipment to donate to this cause. Dave, I can help with logistics of whatever is planned at your place if you need it. QQ: How is evaporation handled?
  9. Just because they state on their website that they are not responsible for shipping delays does not make it true. I think it is fair to give them a week or so to get a credit from UPS, but put the screws to them after that. Tell them you'll dispute it with the credit card company if they don't resolve the problem for you in 3 days or something. The vendor is responsible for getting the item delivered to you. Especially when you paid them to do it.
  10. I'm confused. Where do you put the "layer of gel down"? On the location where the plug will be placed or the plug itself?? And you just dunk the plug in the tank a few times before placing it? Then place the plug on the rockwork?
  11. Thanks a lot, Mark. Mine look great and I've got a nice variety. We may all have different definitions of "rainbow", but I've got a couple with 2-3 color bands. I've also got 2 or 3 that are basically white with a hint of yellow or green. I can't wait to see if they change color. I've got some in the sand and some attached to low rockwork. I'm worried flow might be a bit much, but we'll see. I'd be happy to trade with people if/when they start replicating.
  12. What are your water params? I had a similar problem with a different type of coral. The base was bleaching out. Since then I've correct a low alk problem and it is recovering. I've also done several small water changes over the last month so that could also be a factor in the recovery. I had overall water quality issues due to neglect and the job from H-E-double hocky sticks. Replacing the job from H-E-double hocky sticks also helped.
  13. It looks like I confused Faviaa with Ricordea. Don't ask me how :(. I've got a single ricordea head as of a month ago and I'd love to have more. I'm up for a group buy.
  14. I've had 3 or 4 different types and they all die :(. I think my hermit crabs eat them, but I'm not sure if they just start doing that when the coral starts going down hill? What sort of lighting, tank position, and waterflow do you keep them in?
  15. Jason forgot to read the instructions on linking . Go here: http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php/?sho...5&hl=upload
  16. To significantly reduce the chance of failure then run two solenoid pairs (total of 4 solenoids) in parallel.
  17. You could park a car on that concrete slab. Your aquarium will be fine
  18. What exactly are you looking for? Do you want a quick pocket sized point and click, a Digital SLR, or something in between? If you want digital SLR then the D40 is the way to go as people said. For point and click: I recommend the Cannon Powershot SD1000 or SD750. I've got the 1000 and it is great for point and click photography. It is easy to use, but you don't get much control. Note that the 750 is actually a more advanced model despite the lower number. There are also some newer Powershot models that might be better, but I've not done research. I've also got a waterproof case for my SD1000. It was nice to have when I went snorkeling and to the beach on a recent cruise. This is the waterproof case that I've got: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-WP-DC13-Waterp...d_sim_e_title_5
  19. He's eating SPS. Sorry, I had to do it....
  20. If you're comfortable handling it then remove it from the rock using a credit card, but BE CAREFUL. Then place it exactly where you want it to be. BTAs won't move if you put them in a good spot. I've placed mine exactly where I want them each time. They attach to the rock immediately and don't move.
  21. I stopped by on Saturday and picked up a Flame Hawkfish that I'd been itching to have for a while. Everyone was helpful as always. The octopus was a nice "catch", John.
  22. I suggest you look into getting a float valve. Here's the one I have (and it is sold by a club sponsor): http://www.airwaterice.com/product/FV-14MA...loat_Valve.html I just drilled a hole in the side of the trashcan and then screwed in the float valve. Problem solved in less than 10 minutes. I use one of these to split my washer's water feed: http://www.airwaterice.com/product/HOSEY/H...nd_Y_Combo.html
  23. I worked there several years ago. They did not feed anything abnormal to their fish. I did the feeding.
  24. I purchase a little over 100 lbs from him about a year and half ago. The rock is great and I'm still finding all sorts of new critters. Don't forget about the new tank discount on inverts and livestock. They're always very friendly and actually call me with tracking numbers even though I also get them in my email. I ordered a Powder Blue from them that did not ship well and was dead within 24 hours. They credited my account for my next purchase...which reminds me I have an order to place soon . They're also a nice excuse for a beach trip.
