  1. I have shopped there too. I agree with the quarantine suggestions. I like to think of it as a glimpse of what the fish at Marine Scene, TRT, etc. went through to get there. My advice would be quarantine, and let the buyer beware. But, they do have an amazing selection. I was also there one day when they were unloading a shipment. Lets just say their acclimation procedures left a bit to be desired.
  2. I have gotten all of my corals from either last year's frag swap or from Steve. In all it was at least 20 separate frags. PS if anyone wants some lithophyton frags I could easily supply 10-20 large and small frags. (This thing is a weed)
  3. Marine Scene usually stocks lockline stuff. If you just need a few pieces it is cheaper to get it there than to pay shipping.
  4. Hey Xeon, Looks like we both responded at about the same time. Wanna split the rock? BB
  5. Does anyone keep these tangs? I am considering buying one in January and was curious about the success/failure rate on these fish. I know that they can be finicky. Any advice? BB
  6. I saw this on CNN and was devastated. Once they get things sorted out some, I am going to look into seeing if any funds are set up to help rebuild the aquarium. It would be a shame to let this fire close the exhibit permanently. BB
  7. Funny thing is.. I'm actually considering a purchase from Roozens.. I had to pull my fish from the display to treat for Ich and have a q-tank set up. When I pull the fish from the tank after the first of the year, I am considering going to them and purchasing some fish that I have been looking for.. Does this make me a bad Reefer? BB
  8. I would not recommend Roozens unless you have a good quarrantine tank set up. Their tanks are questionable, at best. I would second the recommendation for Marine Scene or The Reef Tank. Both are excelent stores and have knowlegable staff. Be forewarned, Marine Scene charges premium prices, but every fish they sell has been quarrantined and is accepting food before they will sell it. I'm willing to pay more for that. BB
  9. Anyone else interested in going? I'd love some company. According to Mapquest it is about 3 hours from Springfield. I am planning on bringing a cooler and some heat packs. BB
  10. I'll take some of the red and purple monti's. Some caulerpa would be nice too. Also if you need any help, I'd be willing to chip in on that too. I have a truck if you need any light hauling done. BB
  11. All of the frags that I got from the workshop are doing great. The small, single stalk of Colt coral has branched out into four stalks, the sinularia is going great, and the zoanthids are growing like mad. Just wanted to let everyone know, and to say thanks again! BB
  12. Couple of options. I just removed all of my fish from a 120. Try netting them at night, if they don't sleep in the rockwork. You can try a fish trap. Or you can try a barbless hook and some bait and go fishing in your tank. I tried all of that and still had to remove half of my rockwork to get one of my fish. Hope this helps. BB
  13. Either the Dark blue background needs to be changed or the font color. It is almost impossible to read the text in those sections when you post a message. Other than that, love the new color scheme! BB
  14. I am looking into buying a wavemaker for my setup. I am leaning towards the Red Sea one, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Natural Wave power strip wavemaker. It is about half the price of the Red Sea one and am just wondering what the difference is. Thanks BB
  15. I am contemplating driving and could take up to 3 other interested people with me. I have to check with Mrs. Bandit first. I live in the Kingstowne area of NOVA. BB Edited to add: Mrs. Bandit said yes, so send me a pm if interested in hitching a ride.
  16. I think Marine Scene has one. Its kinda pricey though.
  17. Thanks! SPH Reefmon, I did a quick search to try to find the manufacturer's contact info and all I got was retail outlets. I have since had bigger problems creep up with my house, but I am planning on following this lead. Thanks. BB
  18. The last time they ran their free shipping promo the IO was on sale for $28/bucket. I got 3 for $86. Does anyone know if they have exempted the salt mixes from future free shipping offers? BB
  19. Ok, Am I missing something here. Over the weekend I managed to not latch my storm door and the wind proceeded to beat the glass into tiny fragments about 1/4" by 1/4". I went to Home Despot and they were more than willing to sell me a new door, but the dang door is only about 2 years old and in perfectly good shape. Here is my question. Does anyone know where you can get replacement glass for storm doors? I would like to get one that is similar to the one that I had. It had a light etching around the sides. I have not been able to find anything about getting replacement glass for a door. Do I have to get a glass company to custom cut a piece for me? Or do glass companies stock these types of replacements. I really really really don't want to have to pull the whole door to fix this. Sorry for being off topic and for the length. Any help would be much appreciated. BB
  20. Wowzer... Did you try it without your actinics? I definately don't want to add actinic after looking at that.. at least til I switch bulbs. I get a much whiter appearance without any actinic. BB Thanks for the update.
  21. Sph, Have you fired up the 20k that I loaned you last week yet? I'm curious to see what it looks like. BB
  22. One thing that I have seen on the in wall setup is to build a faux cabinet above the tank. This can swing out of the way to allow access from the front of the tank. Just something to think about. BB
  23. Huh? What happened to the original message?
