The company that I have a contract with uses the same totes with acid in them. A couple years back they took the cage off and within a couple of days the tote busted open and it was only about 3/4 full. The cage is there to strength. If I was you I wouldn't take the risk. Eric

Anybody know if these skimmers are any good? Eric

My sump was a 90 gallon tank I bought from Glasscages, I just got plexy glass from Lowes and cut it to what I needed. I was very easy. Once you figure out how high you want the water level, you just cut 3 pieces that height. (3 for bubble trap ) I used acouple of extra 1" X 1" pieces to make little blocks for the center wall in bubble trap to make it about 1 to 1 1/2" off the bottom. So the water follows over the first, under the second and over the third. Than a cut a piece about 4 inches taller than the others and cut teeth all across the top for the water to flow through, just like you overflows for the wall to the return section. Its real easy and also it your sump so using a little extra silcone or making a little mess is no big deal.

I had a 240 setup for years, you only need one sump, have your overflows empty into one end of the sump (put your skimmer in there), than have a bubble trap. In the middle have this compartment as big as possible, have your refug, I had mangrooves, cheato, and a couple small pieces of live rock. Than have it drain into a return area over a buffle with teeth like your over flows. This is where you have your return pumps, If you have 2 overflows, than most likely you need 2 return pumps, like mag 12's or even 18's. Just make sure you use shut off valves right below your overflows and also right after your return pumps for easy adjustments.

How many people signed up so far? What are the prizes? Eric

Sean, How big is your tank? Do you have any pics?
-
WOW, thats getting ugly fast. But I'd like to come see the tank, because I've already contacted him about a future tank.

For a 90 gallon you only need 1 MP40, I think its good for 3000 gallons per hour, or even better it you can afford it, get 2 and put one on each side and have them sinked. Eric

Its becomes wide very fast and on full power it will move some water. If you can afford one, in my opinion, they are the best pumps out that. Eric

I understand your situation, but small claims court is not even worth you time for $25, a day in court (if they show up) or it will be rescheduled, than if you win, it comes a warrant in debt which to get that you have to goto court again to garnish wages, if you can get the proper info, than if they don't show up, it will get rescheduled again. So in the long run it could take up to a year or more and at least 4 or more court dates for $25. I know from experience, I won a warrant in debt in 1997 for $1200.00 and he didn't pay, so I did the garnishment and after the court date, he just switched jobs and nothing. To date still nothing, he has bought a house, cars and with no problem. As for your problem, you would be going after a business which is even worst. All that will happen it a judgement will go against the company but they still don't have to pay. So in my opinion, just cut your loses, because it will cost you your time on top of your money in the long run. Eric

Everybodies welcome at BRK if they got cash or credit. The only question I have is, where is the VIP room with the real stuff?????? Eric

You talk about gas prices, try paying my fuel bill for one week, it cost me $1150 to fill up one of my tractor trailers last week, which only lasts about 4 days, which only cost me $500 2 1/2 years ago. So when you look at the cost of food and any other household goods going up in price, it because the fuel sur-charge that companies like mine have put on manufactures to cover the BIG difference we have to pay to get the product to the stores. It a big filter down or circle game that we all are getting screwed by the oil companies. So look forward to alot of LFS and other going out of business in very near futures. Eric

I don't know anything about the ones Glasscages sells, but I have HC-S108 from www.anver.com. Eric

I found them on line about 5 years ago and bought them at www.anver.com, I thought the same thing that I wouldn't use them, but they were use on the big tank at MAGNA in DC, and on other friends tanks. I can't remember what I paid for them, but they paid for themselves after buying my 240 from glass cages and how much easier it made it to move the tank and all the fingers they have saved!!! Eric

I'm picking up my new sump too and have four commercial grade glass suction cups if needed. But will only be able to help in Manassas. Eric
