  1. I have a 75G (with cabinet and hood) and a 29G that I can give away. There are some accessories (lights, filters, etc), but not all that is needed for a full set-up. Any takers? Please contact me at mobile 202-329-5712 if intersted. -Rob Eppler
  2. what size tank is it rated for? Got a photo? What pump do I need to get for it. you can email me at reppler@Comcast.net. thanks.
  3. I need a hang-on skimmer for a 75. I am replacing a CPR bakpak. Any suggestions? thank you.
  4. That sounds great, Tom. Thanks for the offer of the neon toadstool...I would love a frag. What's the date and location of frag fest? It's often been in Virginia before, a bit of a haul for me. But I'd love to come if I can..
  5. Hello, Wamas members-- I am re-joining after a long break. My kids are now 10 and 7 and I am looking to get my very sad and neglected 75 gallon tank back in good working order. It's nice to see a lot of the same names on the forums. I will be looking to restock --only have 1 pair of clowns and a hogs head wrasse that have somehow managed to survive my neglect. And I would greatly appreciate any cheap or free easy soft corals. I know many of you live in Virginia, but I am in Gaithersburg, Maryland, so near there would be preferable to me. If any one is interested, I have a large perennial flower garden and would be happy to trade plants for coral frags... Any advice would also be appreciated. I began daily water changes and manually clearing out the algae growth. Scrubbing down some of the rocks. I have a protein skimmer running and a hang on the back filter, can't remember the brand. Water quality is ok, but not stellar. Hoping to improve that in the next few days with the water changes. Thanks Sharon Eppler
  6. Due to some sort of short I need to replace only 1 of my T5 end caps. It is an Ice Cap (now CoralVue). I think Drs. Foster & Smith now sell them, but I hat to pay $20 for a small plastic part (only the black insert needs to be replaced). Anyone have an extra or a used one they want to sell? thank you, Rob
  7. Don't discount the possibility of something like lyme disease. I know several people that have had "unexplained" joint pain, etc that got progressively worse. Turned out to be lyme. VERY hard sometimes to get an accurate diagnosis, as the "test" are often not accurate. Sharon
  8. I had a yellowtail once, when I first started keeping salt water aquarium. Very pretty. Very nasty fish. I had one store employee tell me they had "no redeeming qualities" asside from their color. Sharon
  9. Thanks for the help. Here is what I have tried so far: 1. Checked fuse, it is fine. 2. took out all the bulbs and tried them 1 at a time. I found this odd behavior: a. Any single bulb will turn on to full brightness for 1-2 seconds in the front or back slots. b. A single bulb in the middle slot only turns on to about 5% brightness then immediately turns off. c. Two bulbs installed at same time, one middle & one back slot, both turn on to full brightness and then off. So far, I have come to the following conclusions: 1) It is not the bulbs or how they are seated 2) Something is up with the middle slot, but it is not the wires to the caps, I checked them 3) It is in the ballast. My next step is to open up the ballast and take a look, even though it appears to be riveted shut. If I can't fix it, I am curious what would be advised: 1. Send to Coralvue for repair 2. Buy one new or used 3. Try to find a substitute any thoughts are appreciated. Rob Eppler (engineer husband of Sharon)
  10. I have a 660 ballast running qty 3 T5 bulbs that has just started acting funny. When turned on, the lights come on for 1 second then turn off. This is repeatable, so I don't think a fuse or breaker is blowing. Questions: 1) Has anyone seen this problem before? 2) Since it appears ICECAP inc is out of business does anyone recoommend a place to repair them? I found this link on Google but know nothing about them. http://coralvue.com/troubleshooting/lighting/icecap-660-430-fluorescent-ballast-repair/ 3) Is anyone aware of a replacement product out there? -Rob
  11. Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I buy LARGE packs of sushi grade seaweed at the asian markets and all my tangs have loved it.
  12. Can you give me an approximate date you think the flame angel will be available? thanks
  13. No problem at all. Just let me know. thanks
  14. Well, I thought I was the first one to ask about the flame angel. Maybe you got a PM that isn't in the thread? Anyways, I'm still interested if the person you have listed doesn't come through.
