  1. Tang-away That is a great suggestion. Definitely, we all know advertising cost money and your suggestion can be measured based on ratio of “responses-to-adds” posted, and determine if the add pays off. Also can be used to determined best marketing approaches to recruit new members. Just another thought! Jacob [ws]
  2. Ward I have several times. Deliveries are next day by 9:00AM. they ship out free shipping for orders over $75, but they charge $4.95 for handling that is still not a bad deal. All specimens bought from them are doing great so far (8 month), and they provide good customer service. I have no problems with their orders. Jacob
  3. to VA-Reefman John Thank you so much, those were exactly what I was looking for, specially the one on the "big rock". Again, thank you. Jacob

  5. When I first set up my 55 tank I had the same question and received the following answer: "If you use live rock at a rate of 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per gal of water, the live rock will be your bio filtration therefore you do not need a bio wheel. The bio wheel will increase the nitrite in your tank" then I was told to: "use a skimmer for chemical filtration and use the carbon once a week for 12 hours, and once removed then add essential elements to the tank". I have a Prizm that comes with a canister for carbon and I use it once a week for 12 hours, every two weeks, just to clean the water between water changes. If you need more info, research the web for skimmer Vs bio wheels like i did before venturing into buying the equipment and you will find few topics of using and not using carbon with your skimmer and the need for bio-filtration without bio-wheels. Good Luck. Jacob
  6. I'm looking for Zoanthids all over and can't find them. Are they been held to increase demand and pricing? Anyone knows where I can find Zoo's, not the regular ones we all see at the local stores, but the "pink, blue, purple, neon, types? How much should I expect to pay for let say a 40 polyp Zoo? Jacob rk

  9. Dad was in the Navy stationed in Puerto Rico, nice place to SCUBA by the way. It has a natural reef coral santuarium in the north shore near San Juan, and we "hop" from island to island and visited almost all except for three, Trinidad, Aruba and Barlovento. Although I was raised mainly in Puerto Rico I consider myself from the all over Carribean, and proud of it. Will love to go back when retired.
  10. I was raised in the Caribbeans and everyone calls me Jake. So 1 + 1 = 2 or something like that I think...
  11. Believe it or not I found some last summer at Toys R Us in McLane/Tyson Corner area. The Toys R Us just on route 7 near intersection with 123 in McLane/Tyson Corner Area. They sell sand for the kids sand boxes. Give it a try and let us know if they still carry it. Jacob

  16. He was introduced in December after 6 other fish were already in the tank, but became very territorial soon after. I took him out and put him in a nursery box until I decide what to do.
  17. ild I have a Purple Dottyback also known as Magenta Pseudochromis in my 55 gal reef tank. I introduced a 6 Line Wrasse last week and the Dottyback decided to molest and nibble his fins making it a 24 hour deal. I moved 75% of the rock work in the tank ( was up till 3 am yesterday) but the Dottyback still finds ways to attack my new wrasse. Do you know of someone interested in a Magenta Pseudochromis? What else can I do?
